PT 2 – EXTERIOR – ROOFTOPS (INTERACTIVE)

GRENADA (SFX – RICOCHETING GUNFIRE)

(LAUGHS) Have you ever fired a gun inside of a safe? The bullets…they keep bouncing! You should see this!

RICK

If I were there, I wouldn’t be able to do my job and keep OWLIER away while you do yours.

GRENADA

Ha ha. Of course! That’s what I pay you for!

RICK

You haven’t paid me yet.

GRENADA

But I… oohh, sparkley –

RICK (NARRATION)

When being chased, direction is key. Fleeing in the direction of the area you’re trying to keep the hero away from is counterintuitive to your primary objective. It’s usually best to go in the opposite direction.

Player must flee from OWLIER across the rooftops heading northeast, while giving the hero incentive to chase. There are a different outcomes based on player choice, skill, and optional items acquired.

IF CAT ATTACK DISGUISE WAS ACQUIRED AND WORN

OWLIER is more persistent in chasing player, but slightly more reckless. OWLIER becomes easier to catch in traps, but is more difficult if combat is initiated.

RICK (NARRATION)

When you want a hero to chase you, dressing like the villain he thinks just broke out of jail, is the perfect method. However, when dealing with a hero known to be greatly observant, it’s not always enough to just look the part, you have to act it.

IF CAT ATTACK DISGUISE WAS NOT ACQUIRED, OR IS NOT WORN

RICK (NARRATION)

When a hero sees a guy dressed as a ninja on top of a building, across from a police station that was just assaulted, that ninja automatically becomes the prime suspect. However, ninja are small fries compared to supervillians, so I’ll need to give him a reason to chase me.

During chase sequence across rooftops, the player may use certain items to attract OWLIER’s attention, or use items to initiate an ambush.

IF KUNAI OR EXPLOSIVE KUNAI IS USED

OWLIER’s focus on player increases, and he speeds up.

IF SMOKE BOMB IS USED

OWLIER looses focus on player, and slows down.

AMBUSH OWLIER

Player can ambush OWLIER after using smoke bomb. OWLIER’s reaction time decreases, and he will block attacks less often. He will also be coughing, which reduces his total health points. Boss fight becomes easier.

IF PLAYER IS CAUGHT

Refer to PT 1 FIGHT OWLIER

IF PLAYER GETS TOO FAR AHEAD

OWLIER looses track of player and goes after GRENADA instead. GAME OVER.

IF PLAYER REACHES END OF CHASE SEQUENCE WITH OWLIER STILL ENGAGED

Cut to cinematic of player jumping from rooftop to another building, crashing through the window of an 11th floor apartment building. Player stumbles out of apartment into hallway, injured and limping. OWLIER follows.

Go to PT 3 – APPARTMENT HALLWAY.

This was my fear when I thought up this challenge: people would dream up amazing games I want to play, but can't since they aren't being made.

Awesome job. The writing is great and the premise is interesting in that it could be written comedically or straight and still work.
