My Strategy game of the year 2010

This year has been very good for strategy gamers as a whole. Now I would say that I could not pick just one, but I had to in the end. For me strategy goes beyond the word or context in which developers mean for it to be used.

Ninjatown Trees of Doom for the iPad, iTouch/iPhone is the runner-up for my Strategy game of the year. Anyone who has played this may be thinking I am out of my mind to put it in a strategy category. For me it fits into this category as while I climb the tree I begin to wonder do I take the mustache for a ride or skip it and hope a few feet more there is the ever so fast cape. It takes strategy to remember how enemies move and to make critical thinking if you should take the first mushroom or the third mushroom in a jump. Overall the addictiveness of the game and the strategy you have to use for this ever changing tree when you start a new game is awesome. Even though it may not look, feel or even breath like a strategy game. I think it is one at it's core design an over all appeal in today's gaming.

For my Strategy game of the year I choose Greed Corp hands down over the competition. Earlier this year it came out for PSN/XBLA and now it is on the PC for more to enjoy. Yes, I put this in front of everything including Civilization 5. I truly think this flew under everyone's radar with out two thoughts. This game brought into light you must destroy your land in order to conquer everyone else. Even with it's time turned based top down view you always have a sense of what is going on. When your not trying to find an on-line match, you have a great AI players ready to make you think about every move you make. Truly this makes you realize less is more and great things can happen. So if your a strategist like me you may want to think about this game as it is good.

If you don't agree with my pick then what would you choose for your 2010 Strategy game of the year?

Still thinking about sneaking away money for awhile and getting my wife an iPad sometime next year. Then I can steal it and play games when I want!
