In case you're wondering what the hell a Minecraft is, please read Marcel Hoang's article on The Amazing Things You Can Build in Minecraft.

News Blips:

Minecraft IglooPayPal limits the account of Minecraft developer Markus "Notch" Persson for "a suspicious withdrawal or deposit."  Persson reports on his Tumblr that he cannot access the $760,000+ in his PayPal account that he recently acquired from a spike in sales of his game. He plans to use that money for a new development studio. PayPal told him that his account is "under review," and it may take up to two weeks to resolve the issue. Come on, guys! Persson isn't some fake Nigerian prince -- he's a video-game designer.

Call of Duty: Black Ops developer Treyarch plans to fight the used-games market for their title by making the most engaging multiplayer game possible. Studio head Mark Lamia told MCV that, "We're going to support the hell out of Black Ops. That will be our focus post-release: making sure we keep our fans engaged, and hopefully as a result, they'll want to keep playing our game and won't want to trade it in." Translation: Black Ops is going to be 10 times more addictive than marijuana.

Resident Evil: Afterlife (which releases today) is the "first video-game movie filmed in stereoscopic 3D." Writer/director/producer Paul W.S. Anderson told Reuters that he "wrote things into this script that [he] knew would work well in 3D, like lots of sets with depth-like tunnels, elevator shafts, and big wide landscapes." He also cites the three-dimensional foundation of the film as the reason why in the story, lead actress Milla Jovovich has an airplane. In the video-game industry, we have a word for this type of thing -- it's called a gimmick.

Rockstar plans to release the Grand Theft Auto 3 trilogy (GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas) on Apple's Mac platform, "most likely later this year." The game maker revealed this juicy tidbit in their latest Asked & Answered series on Facebook. Since GTA 3 originally came out in 2001, does this mean we should expect GTA 4 for the Mac sometime in 2017?

Nothing like suspicious bank activity to bring an indie developer to a grinding halt!
