If you listen to The Geekbox, or you watch a lot of USA, or you're just cool, then you know that Burn Notice starts up again on Thursday. And you know what that means -- more Spy Tips.

But this is a video game site. Surely, you think, Michael Westen's Practical Tips for Everyday Living (as a Spy) have no place here. And of course you're right. That's why I have applied his method and come up with some tips that are more useful for those of us who spend our time sitting around playing video games and not being spies.

Because when you're a gamer, your best source of information is the Internet.

1.) When you're gaming, it's important to choose your food carefully. Bacon is delicious, but it will gum up your controller and cost you time. When it comes to drinks, there are a lot of advantages to Mountain Dew -- it's refreshing, it's highly caffeinated, and it won't stain as bad as Pepsi.

2.) If you're up against a hundred-hour RPG, there's really no such thing as too many saves. A wrong turn or a corrupted file can set you back hours, and a dungeon that was fun once will be a lot less fun on the second or third try.

3.) In Capcom games it's always a good idea to shoot things that are glowing. No one has ever regretted taking this course of action, and in fact it's the only way to win.

4.) When you're part of the gaming community, you should pick a Gamertag or PSN ID that will stand the test of time. "DrivesCrunk420" might seem pretty cool now, but in a couple of years you might reconsider. And if you're an XBox 360 user, this will cost you.

5.) If you're playing Rock Band and you have to keep the noise down, PDP makes some drum silencers that retail for about twenty dollars. But if you're on a budget you can get the same effect with some foam paper and spray adhesive. Or you can just use a blanket.
