Video Blips: Battlefield 3, Rage, Uncharted 3, and more

I’m not going to lie; I’m starting to get extremely excited about Battlefield 3. While I enjoyed the unique, simple style of the series’ prior titles, the new, gritty look of this game might finally enable it to compete with Call of Duty.

Video Blips:

• I’m trying to reserve judgment until I get my hands on the final product, but every new bit of Battlefield 3 footage makes staying calm more difficult. None of my friends bothered playing any of the previous Battlefield games, so perhaps this one will get them to realize how much fun they’ve missed. [GameTrailers]

Continue after the break for a look at Rage’s Dead City, some multiplayer mayhem in Uncharted 3, and a trailer from the upcoming Inversion.

• Rage’s post-apocalyptic setting looks pretty similar to those of Borderlands and Fallout 3. Some people seem deterred by this, but they forget that barren, decayed cityscapes and deserted, irradiated wastelands are a geek’s home away from home. [GameTrailers]

• Uncharted 2’s multiplayer was a surprise to everyone, so it’s not shocking that the expectations for Uncharted 3’s multiplayer are pretty damn high. By the looks of this video, Naughty Dog plans to deliver. The customization options seem staggering! [GameTrailers]

• Inversion plans on taking the concept of gravity in games to a whole new level. I find the idea of enemies with the ability to swarm up the sides of buildings a bit unsettling. I think I’ve had a dream about this before, only rather than hulking monsters, it featured hipsters. And I was in my underwear. [GameTrailers]
