Video Blips: Child of Eden, Twisted Metal, Earth Defense Force, and more

Fun fact: Child of Eden's creator is Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the mastermind behind the trippy rail shooter Rez. As for the experience, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy author Douglas Adams put it best: "It's like having your brain smashed out by a lemon wrapped around a large gold brick."

Video Blips:

• Child of Eden's visual motif conjures poetic phrases such as "digital elegance," "glistening globular luminescence," and "What the hell did I just smoke?" This trailer proclaims that the future "is in your hands" which apparently involves making them look like radioactive Iron Man gloves.

Continue after the break for why you should always flee a clown driving an ice cream truck in Twisted Metal, the buggiest invasion you'll ever see in Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, and the awakening powers of the mutants in X-Men: Destiny.

• Twisted Metal mascot Sweet Tooth's only desire is the safe delivery of his frozen dairy goods. Of course, he might get a little confused and send a ballistic missile up your exhaust pipe instead of a fudgesicle, but hey, mistakes happen.

• You'll need something a little stronger than a swatter for crushing the invading bugs of Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon. That is, unless you're an entomophobe. You would've probably curled up into a twitching ball of terror by now.

• This trailer for X-Men: Destiny encourages all fledgling mutants to embrace their gifts and forge their own path. Or it might be an allegory on the rigors of high school life. I can't tell which.

Either something's wrong with my Firefox, or there are no videos in this Video Blip. *scratches head*

That's odd. They load fine for me in Firefox and Chrome.

I refreshed the page several times before posting my previous message, but when I came to read your comment the videos finally appeared.

I have to say Child of Eden looks like something out of Fear and Loathing in Last Vegas. The music alone is worth the purchase, but they probably should have made it Kinect and Move only, because if I can play without sweating like a horse with the regular controller, I’ll choose that option every time.
