Video Blips: Star Wars: The Old Republic, Mass Effect 3, Rise of Nightmares, and more

If there was one game I was determined to see at E3 2011, it was definitely Star Wars: The Old Republic. I had grown a bit impatient for this game to release, but after seeing it in action, I now know why it’s taking so long: It's huge. Take your time, BioWare. Bake that cake to perfection.

Video Blips:

• The features in Star Wars: The Old Republic seem like they’ll keep gamers busy for quite a while. I can only imagine what side occupations the game will provide. I’m crossing my fingers for Twi’lek pole dancers.

After the break, take a look at a high-level quest in Star Wars: The Old Republic, fight for the survival of Earth in Mass Effect 3, and experience Kinect-style horror in Rise of Nightmares.

• High-level players in Star Wars: The Old Republic will have their work cut out for them. I’m wondering just how long this game will permit me to be a lone badass before I’m required to have a posse. I do hate teamwork.

• It’s been a long, troublesome road leading to the climactic events of Mass Effect 3. Honestly, Shepherd should be elected president of Earth after this game. We don’t do enough for our planet-saving heroes. Master Chief got nothing but a stupid headstone -- which he shared with others.

• Somehow, someone came up with the idea of implementing horror into the Kinect with Rise of Nightmares. I saw this video at E3 and actually thought the silhouette was Voldo from Soul Calibur. Considering how he dresses, binding and gagging men in a basement wouldn’t be that out of his character.
