Pc gaming.

I had always disregarded it before. It was for people with loads of money. The mod scene scared me.Pc gaming was just too hardcore.Sure I downloaded Steam, but I didn't use it.Until this year.

More frightening than Silent Hill

I heard so much about a game called Torchlight.I read articles about it  here and it sounded like my kind of game.So I bought it and loved it!

It occured to me that there might be other games worth playing on Pc, so in the recent Steam sale I bought a whole bunch of games.I love them, but now want a new laptop to better play them.It seems Pc gaming might be expensive after all, but I have learned that its well worth it.

I'm in the same boat. Console gamer all my life, finally scrapped together the dough for a gaming PC and now I'm hooked. Huge TF2 fan.

Glad you're enjoying PC gaming, Ultan and Garret. You really don't need tons of cash to play PC games, unless you're bound-and-determined to play the most demanding games on the highest-available resolutions. One thing I've learned is that you upgrade things such as CPUs, motherboards, and video cards every couple of years, focusing on one at a time. This year, it's time for me to upgrade video card and power supply. I can do that for $200-$300, easily. And with the money I save on big sales such as Steam's blowout, I can move funds from the gaming budget to the hardware budget.

Thanks for the advice Jason.I'm not too bothered about playing on the very highest resolutions, but I would like to be able to run some of the more modern and demanding games.I would also like Company of Heroes to run at more then 8 fps.

I just have to wait till August!
