Discussion Topic - Worth Your Salt

Now this topic may be more mis leading then the last one.  How ever if you think about it if you eat to much salt you wont sweat as much.  Then again I threw in the word worth which really changes this up on where this may end up.

Being "Worth your Salt" is a quote I picked up from a friend of mine.  Even though I consider the person a friend.  Some one else will just say acquaintance in this case as well.  Any way that is neither here nor there.

Now the meaning behind this is in my mind is: Doing the best you can each time you do something that contributes to your goal in a manner that exceeds expectations.  Maybe this is wrong on how I am thinking, but it looks good to me.  Lets break this down even further.

Take me and writing for example.  I am no writer by any means and I look up to so many that I wish to write like.  How ever I think I have been progressing slowly, but shirely with each new article.  Yes I know there are some bland ones I do put out.  How ever I am using the comments and suggestions y'all give me to better my self.

Most of you all want to be writers so with this I say Are you Worth your salt?  Meaning with each article are you putting your best foot forward?   Have you used all the toold Rich M from the staff has given you?
My Answer is as a writer I am not worth my salt, but I am working on it.   I would like everyone to keep on writing because that is the only way we get better.  Those of you that are good keep on going and strive to be better and help others as well.

TOBY!!!!!!

I have written very few things that I have put 100% into. I think it was due to time or laziness. I would like to think I am getting better, but sometimes I write without inspiration, and that is not good for me. Perhaps I should write my next post in poetry form?

Brian Petro-Roy's post should be reposted every week:

And for the record, some of your stuff is top notch!!! ;)

There is a serious lack of discussion in these discussion topics! Perhaps more obscenities are needed? Maybe some full frontal nudity? Or maybe a pic of a pug in a diaper?

I think anyone who claims that their writing has no room for improvement is lying.

Honestly, when I write articles here I don't do a lot of self editing. I do a quick spell check to catch typos, but that's about it. Could I do better? Certainly.

@Jay No such thing as a writer who doesn't need an editor.

I edit and reedit my stuff NONSTOP! Even then I'll usually just throw-out the entire thing because I'm not satisfied.

@Jason - I agree. I was just admitting that I could do a better job of checking myself before I expected one of you to do so. :)

toby,

how can you say "I am no writer by any means "? the fact that you write makes you a writer. Mistakes and errors are part of the process and the your journey as a writer will only end when your imagination does. Keep it up! :D

I know my writing is not the best, but thats why I put it up on places like Bitmob,so that I can get feedback and use that to hopefully better myself.

I hate re-reading my stuff, just hate it,so I could do better in that respect, catch more mistakes.
