Mixing uppers and downers is a dangerous game, and one that led to the United States Food and Drug Administration banning popular malt beverage Four Loko's original recipe. This hideious malt liquor combined the rush of drinking too many energy drinks with a stupid amount of alcohol.

This combo in moderation is delicious and adds a new perspective on the drinking experience, and that's the concept behind these beautiful Final Fantasy-inspired cocktails.

slow and haste

The blue drink is "slow" spell from the Final Fantasy series, and the orange drink is "haste." Only the blue beverage is alcoholic and keeps with the dynamic of playing downers against uppers, in this case alcohol against energy drinks. Ideally you would drink the alcoholic choice followed immediately by the alcoholic one. You can find the full recipes on the Drunken Moogle.

1.5 oz. UV Blue Raspberry Vodka
1 splash of Rose’s Blue Raspberry Cocktail Mix
4 oz. Sprite
