Paul, no one will take your work seriously until you give it the same thought you’re asking others to. Criticizing video-game writers doesn’t work when you don’t proofread your own piece and your article’s argument is centered on someone's tweets about a decade-old TV show.

William, making personal attacks doesn’t make you any better than Paul is. You’re better than that.

I knew I should have used "I wish Juri was in instead" as the last line since a lot of people have said that to me. As a Juri secondary though I don't know how well she would fit in an MVC style; Juri has to be played paitently because of how unsafe her special moves are, and I don't think her fireball game would transition well given how mobile MVC characters can be. I'm still learning her though so that's my experience. I thought Rufus would be another good choice.

I can't say I'm a shooter fan, but I can respect the SOCOM series for its realism and being one of the first team-based console shooters.

I'm not a fan of .hack, but I hope your campaign succeeds. I think the major Tales games will still be coming to the states in one way or another since it's probably the biggest RPG franchise outside of Square Enix. As for the Naruto games wouldn't FUNimation have some hand in the localization process?

I like it when old tactics books are analyzed for modern games. David Sirlin, the lead designer for Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo: HD Remix, had an entire segment in a book he published about using Art of War tactics in fighting games if you're interested.

I had a big cutscene offender in Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage. In the TV show the game is based on, Ken fights a villain on the side of a pyramid. This is shown in the cutscene. The ACTUAL game fight takes place on a platform with the pyramid in the background. Worse, the game switches from platform boss fight to the the pyramid cutscene several times.

The nerdiest gifts I ever gave are definitely my custom-made Street Fighter Mighty Muggs.  I've been having trouble deciding what I want for Christmas this year though.

Oh, OK. I guess I was focusing too much on the critical points. I do have to admit that I always wanted a pure ice type that went through three evolutions. When I looked through BW's monsters before posting the first comment I got miffed that the monsters that finally do that look like ice cream cones, so I can see where Jonathon's coming from in regards to the bland-ish Pokemon.

I haven't been paying a lot of attention to Black and White myself, but I'd like to wait until the game comes out in the US before I pass judgment on it. The features I've read about (the 3D city and more industrialized setting, and the PETA-esque version of Team Rocket) seem to be more substantial than the ones that were in Diamond/Pearl, and the new pokemon have always been hit and miss.

I agree that Rare hasn't been the same since it stopped being bros with Nintendo, but Rare had no input on the Goldeneye remake. You can thank Activision and Eurocom for that.

@William that's great. Since your articles are a moment in time they can become dated if you change your opinion. I use Hakan once in a while for fun. The most exciting change for me is the rumored one that it will be harder to accidentally get his 360 throw when trying to do Oil Slide. Hakan is slightly underrated and I think screw ups like that add to the perception.
