The video is an 18-minute long musical medley features some of the most recognizable music within the Super Mario series including its various spin-offs, RPG, puzzle and sports games.

Uploaded by YouTube user amanbow, he previously found instant musical recognition via Nico Nico Douga with the video "The Medley of Kirby SSDX" and "The Medley of Pokemon RGBY+GSC."  "Super Mario Ceremony" was uploaded to Nico Nico Douga, Monday, September 12, 2011. Like his previous works, "Super Mario Ceremony" immediately found itself atop the website's daily video rankings on its first day.
