Editor's Note: Whoa, check out this collection of images from Brett Bates. More and more we think San Francisco is a gateway to some videogame/real world portal. -Greg

At left: Mr. Burbujas (that's "Mr. Bubbles" to you non-Spanish speakers), mascot of the laundromat at the corner of 24th and Florida streets here in San Francisco's Mission district. At right: Big Daddy, aka Mr. Bubbles, poster child for the videogame BioShock. Maybe I'm crazy, but to me the similarities are spooky. My guess is that they're twins, cruelly separated at birth.

This much is certain: Even if the Hispanic version of Mr. Bubbles isn't entirely accurate, he'll sure as heck help you get your clothes clean. Kind of like the Japanese Homer Simpson.

Read on for more photos of Mr. Burbujas. Are those Little Sisters inside the other washing machines!?

First, the full image:

And a view of the building:

What do you think: Separated at birth, or is the Mission district the new Rapture?

You could be on to something since that one little sister has flesh written on her lid.

I think Spanish Mr. Bubbles is scarier than Rapture's version!

Why is the Spanish Mr. Bubbles laughing? I wouldn't be laughing if I was tasked with doing laundry for my entire life. Or maybe the chore's turned him into some Mad Hatter-version of a laundry machine.

I think Mr. Burbuja's laugh may be the laugh of an insane person. As in, "Hahaha, those who have wronged me will suffer death by spin cycle! Don't you agree, Mr. Laughing Clock?"

It looks like he's dancing to ska music.

Let's see:

-Mr. Burbujas shoots bubbles.
-Mr. Big Daddy shoots rivets.

I'd rather be on Mr. Big Daddy's good side.
