Mario mushrooms sound delicious, but we wish someone would hide a delicious turkey leg in a trash can for us. This guy knows what we're talking about.

Cultural Blips:

Mario Mushroom

• This is super: Make your own Mario mushrooms. Nerd-food pro Anna The Red teaches us how to make the iconic height-enhancing mushrooms from Super Mario Bros. via a radish and some seaweed. Hmm, wonder if these are FDA-approved... [Offworld]

Â

• Stop the presses: Carmen Sandiego found. Yep, there she is. Waldo would be ashamed. [Geekologie]

Â

• Mario hydrant is a nerd firefighter's wet dream. Looks like Mario is eagerly anticipating a hose, too. What a perv. [Level One Boss]

Â

• Zelda in 3-D still surprisingly flat. But here's what it would look like if you drank a red and blue potion at the same time. [Offworld]

Legend of Zelda from a different perspective?! NO, no, no. Games never do well when the move to the third dimension. Just look at Mario, Grand Theft Auto, Final Fantasy, Metroid and Metal Gear Solid. As soon as they stopped being 2-D, they became much more playable, realistic and challenging. Who needs that in a video game?! I ask you...

Oh, and Carmen hasn't aged well... I see why she keeps her head under her hat most of the time.

Carmen doesn't look too hot because of all the stress of people trying to find her all these years. Lady just wants to travel in peace.
