Every now and again there comes a time when little seems to stimulate the brain. Your significant other, your buddies, your community leaders, your family, just don't seem to be there for you. You try to lose yourself in the things that have made you happy in the past involving as little people close to you as possible. Maybe it is watching sports... Maybe it is your work... Maybe it is computers... Maybe it is video games... Maybe it is promiscuous sex... Maybe it is drugs... Maybe it is fatty sugary foods... Maybe it is your religion... Maybe it is the internet...
All of us in our bodies, living the life have all felt pain and suffering. It's just something of being human, something of being alive. To live is to suffer is what that old cliche seems to tell us. We all carry a cross and have our own personal demons.
Everywhere around us people seem to only want to complain when it comes to the hardships of being alive, "Why wasn't I born that way?" "Why is he so fortunate?" "Why can't the government fix my life?" "Why can't I get something... for nothing?" "Why are we stuck on this rock where we don't belong?" "Oh poor me."
The trend of the modern world and possibly every age has been to be conformist. Join Twitter. Join Facebook. Be part of "us" or else you might end up one of those of the lower castes, possibly even an untouchable. You'll go to hell if you don't stay in the right lane. Fear seems to be a primal motivational factor in getting people to do what you want them to do and quit them of their bitching. And who is to blame for the sheep nature of man kind? We are.
I play video games like millions of other people. I'm part of the sheep. I'm part of the mob. Is it all worth it? Is anything worth it? Yes. It has to be and anything bad that has happened to you in the past was meant to happen. To complain about it is a complete waste of time. The world is a beautiful complex place and we must find joy. That is, until it all ends. Hopefully that won't be until a very very long time. The suffering must continue... Jesus in agony... til' the end of the world.

Interesting, I guess we have a pretty different take on gamers. Perhaps this is beginning to change, but I've always thought of gamers as non-conformists (as least when compared to the rest of our society). Even though the video game industry has grown significantly in recent years, most video games still aren't that popular.
If you were referring to conformism within "gamer culture" itself, however, then my opinion is similar. Many gamers feel pressured to stick to the types of games their friends and/or favorite reviewers play/enjoy.
Looking back at the picture I choose to add to this bull shit I wrote, man that is FN scary looking. Yikes! That is some fucked up shit! It's comes from the Tran Anh Hung film I Come With The Rain in case anyone is wondering.
