With the release of the new Update I was selected as one of the Beta people along with a whole bunch of other people.  I was registered like everyone else, but then Microsoft once again Disappointed me.  So now I will tell my tale of what went on and the end result.

So to get the Preview of the New update before Aug 11th you had to register your gamer tag to a console.  Needless to say we use my wife's console more so I used her console number with my gamer tag.  Now after receiving the update on day one like most.  There is fully functioning with all the perks.  So a few days have went by I notice something strange happening and that is my step daughter not in her room playing Lips, Fable 2 or any other game on-line.

Last night August 7th I go on to do something with my Pinata's from Viva Pinata: Trouble in paradise.  I get a message saying I can't connect to XBL untill the update.  Needless to say I was upset I could not do somethings I needed to do.  After talking with my step-daughter this has been going on for a few days.  I may not know how microsoft thinks, but to give someone access and then take it away for no reason is messed up.  In light of being screwed by Microsoft once again I am going to do something to help out ther competitor Nintendo.

With us having two consoles I am going to trade one into gamestop for 70 dollars credit to put towards EA Sports Active & a new Wii Motion Plus.  As much trouble as Microsoft has given us I am going to start supporting the Wii and Playstation 3 a whole lot more.  So in the end my wife gets what she wants with EA Sports Active and Nintendo will see more business from this consumer.

$70 trade in? Where do you live? I will take that extra 360! And I guess you did not see the update at all then?

Sony has been getting a lot of love from me.. I think it needs a couple nights off!

dude, that sucks. I havent run into any of those kinds of problems. I'm pretty peeved at the prices for the Games on Demand stuff though. 40 canadian dollars for Call of Duty 2? seriously... I can find it for 20.

I understand your sentiments.

I have gone through five xbox 360s. NEVER has a console let me down that much in my 17-ish years of gaming. I will only buy a game for my 360 if its exclusive or has some "hook" over the PS3 version. PS3 is more expensive, yes. But its quality! Nintendo products since the NES could survive a nuclear holocaust so no question there.

No need to buy games for a system that might crap out at any moment and my warranty has expired(even the extended RROD warranty expired now). Plus the 360 is not worth paying to repair.
