Read the following word out loud:
Razzamatazz!
Did you make jazz hands? I can't say it without making jazz hands. Someone needs to commission a study to determine the link between "razamatazz" and jazz hands.
News Blips:
The Association of Teachers and Lecturers, a United Kingdom teachers' union, claims that unrestricted access to "horrific" video games are making schoolchildren go all crazy. "I began to reflect on what children have been playing over the last few years and realised we have noticed a marked increase in the aggression in general," Alison Sherratt, a teacher and former president of the ATL told The Telegraph. "We all expect to see rough and tumble but I have seen little ones acting out quite graphic scenes in the playground and there is a lot more hitting, hurting, thumping, etc., in the classroom for no particular reason.” The students in question are four and five years old. Sherratt will present her observations and concerns to the ATL's annual conference on Wednesday, at which the organization is also expected to commission research into the correlation between media and behavior. I think their money might be better spent examining the link between lax parenting and shitty kids, but that's just me.
League for Gamers is taking its battle against HR 4204 to PAX East this weekend. HR 4204, or "The Video Game Health Labeling Act of 2012" if you're nasty, requires that every video game with an ESRB rating of "E" and above carry a label reading, "Warning: Exposure to violent video games has been linked to aggressive behavior." League for Gamers, founded by Red 5 Studios CEO Mark Kern, will be at the Firefall booth at PAX East in Boston to educate, enroll, and hand out free stuff in the name of justice. More information is available at the official LFG website.
Some leaked PlayStation 3 Trophies hint that Harley Quinn will return in upcoming Arkham City DLC. PS3Trophies.org released the list of virtual ego supplements, which indicate that the DLC will be called "Harley Quinn's Revenge" and that Robin will be involved in some way. My wishfully thinking nerd gland wanted to believe that this all points to a new story chapter with a playable Harley Quinn (and OMG maybe a boss fight against Batman!!!1!), but then I remembered that the game's Challenge Maps were called "The Riddler's Revenge," so it'll probably just be more of that. The PlayStation 3 has Amazon Instant Video now. Not to be outdone by Microsoft's addition of HBO Go to the Xbox 360 (but totally to be outdone by Microsoft's marketing department), Sony has added an Amazon Instant Video app to the PlayStation 3's cross-media bar. It's under the "Video" header, and can be yours after a measly 19MB download. You can learn more in the informative video below -- provided you don't get sidetracked with trying to track down where to buy the awesome shirt PlayStation Blog's Jeff Rubenstein is wearing. Actually, I'll save you the trouble. Okay, here's the video. [Joystiq]
