I’m not always playing, writing about, or reading about video games. On occasion, I leave my house and go out where that “sun” thing is. But lately, I’ve found that being out of the house isn’t enough to get away from games. It seems like no matter where I go, the ever-expanding influence of video games is present. Sure, I sound crazy now, but have a look at some of the weird stuff I’ve encountered lately!
I was in Oakland (aka: minus world) and ran into this question block beneath an overpass. The mushroom that popped out didn’t make me any bigger, but I did see a bunch of giant flying turtles after I ate it....

My wife brought home some bananas from Trader Joe’s. I quickly got into a ball, collected them, and rolled around the house. I now make her call me GonGon. She's not a big fan of that.
I was in Vegas on 3/11 to see 311 for the cleverly-titled “311 Day.” During their first break, this dude came out and did some circus-style balancing act. For some reason his background music made me angry that Rare has yet to make Killer Instinct 3. I can’t quite figure out why....
After the concert, I went back to my room and found a not-so-innocent pizza flyer under my door. Nice try, Big Daddy, but I know this trick: I order a pizza, you send a little girl to deliver it, she steals my ADAM, and you stomp around and groan. You already got me with it once. I’m not falling for it again.
You guys have come across random game-related or game-inspired things as well, right? Hopefully it’s not just me. If you’ve got some pictures, video, or audio you’d like to share, send them to letters@bitmob.com with the subject “Game Encounters,” and I’ll post them in a follow-up story.
