Dream Cast to Memories

Back in the month of August of the year 2000 is where my memories begin.  Some of you all may have other memories and have shared them all ready.  No I can't post picures or even video's at work so you have been warned of the wall of words about to hit you.

August 2000 I just go past bootcamp in Chicago and finally arrived in "A"  school.  The location of this schooling was Pensacola Florida.  After settling in and getting to know everyone it became clear where every guy guys when on duty days when not doing anything, but hanging out.
He was known as Dre to many of us in the circle we hung out in.  To everyone else he was known as the guy with the Dreamcast.  So on duty days after muster at 6 am we would all go to breakfast and then hurry back to get in some Spawn that was published by Capcom.

Honestly we didn't touch single player at all.  As this game was purely Multi-player for us due to the sheer fun it provided us.  Think of Unreal Tournament 3, but with Todd McFarline's characters.  It was fast pace blood shed that hooked all of us till he left.  Really with as many characters you got to choose from it was just comical to sickening the close battles you would have.

In the five months we played this I can't think of a tourney that didn't happen each weekend.  Many of us even though we did not ever get to win much enjoyed the banter with friends.  As I would like to say this was the next best Split Screen Shooter after Goldeneye & South Park 64.  If you still have a dreamcast and play it with friends then try this game.

Nice title!!! I never played Spawn or South Park 64, but I did play Goldeneye so if Spawn as almost as good as that game, then it must be very good!

So what do guys in the service play today? 360? Wii?

You did it! I didn't realize Spawn was an FPS, it sounds fun though. Especially if you guys played every weekend.

Military training sounds like hard work. It's cool that they allowed you to keep consoles and have a little fun while in service.

I myself have never played Spawn. My first interaction with the Dreamcast was playing Soul Calibur at a local LAN cafe. Just like you, my memories of the console stem from hectic and entertaining multi-player sessions.
