Following the Nintendo Press Conference, I was allowed a very short demo of their newest handheld. It consisted of a variety of screenshots from Nintendo's various franchise favorites including Mario, Pikmin, Metroid and Zelda. The images were animated, allowing me to see the stunning abilities of the 3DS. Not only are you able to view "inside" the screen, the handheld also produces images that appear as if they are coming right at you. The 3D technology looks as stunning as it does in movie theater - minus the silly glasses. Tilting the screen slightly loses the effect, making me believe that the screen uses technology similar to that of lenticular cards. The graphical capabilities of the 3DS are also a sight to behold.. While the Kid Icarus demo showed during the presentation looked like it could be a Wii title, the high resolution screen on the 3DS unit displayed images that seemed to exceed those of it's console brethren.  The experience is one that is truly unable to be put into words and needs to be experienced to fully appreciate the ground-breaking technology. With additional features that include taking 3D pictures and viewing 3D feature films, Nintendo seems to have once again stole the E3 spotlight and will have gamers dismissing the "me too!" motion controls of Sony and Microsoft.
