Meet the New Additions to the Bitmob Staff

We have a few new faces on our staff page, all of whom you've seen around Bitmob before (with one late addition)....

Aaron Thomas: This former GameSpot editor has been helping us out for a while now (you probably most know his work from Download Lowdown and The Beatles Rock Band vs. real-photo comparisons). He bribed us with enough "effort" and "hard work," so had to add him officially to the staff list.

Â

Brett Bates: Brett has the honor of being the first community member to have a story promoted to the front page of Bitmob. Since then, we've discovered he's actually an editor, so now, he's officially on the Bitmob team. Good news for most of you guys: This means Brett's now disqualified for our Netbook giveaway. Ah, he would've just regifted it anyways....

Kris Pigna
:
A 1UP freelancer by trade, Kris recently received a lobotomy that removed the part of his brain that sought payment for his work. So he now volunteers his free services for our weekly Hit or Miss weekend recaps.

Â

Alejandro Quan-Madrid: This ambitious young man came up to me at the Bitmob Community Meet-Up and asked if he can intern for us. One almost-failed meeting/interview later (he and Demian were inside the coffee shop waiting for me, and I was outside waiting for them...for about a half hour), and we brought him on board.

Ryan Rubis:
We don't know where he came from, but Ryan came in like a brainiac whirlwind and frantically fixed a lot of the CSS around Bitmob. He's been invaluable to the dev team.

Â

Toby Davis, Lance Darnell, Paul Gale, and Dan Fecteau (not pictured): Say hello to our moderators. Paul and Dan have been lurking in the background for a while now, but Toby and Lance...if you don't know who they are, you must not like comments. These two are everywhere on Bitmob. Since they're reading every story 10-15 times each anyways, we figured we'd ask them to help us keep an eye out for unruly posters, of which there haven't been too many. Let's keep it that way and give these guys nothing to do around here. Well, except for comment some more.

I don't think the people around here could bore someone. After all there are so many great stories to read and comment on. 8)

Hmm... maybe that wasn't a good choice of words. I meant "bored" as in, you don't have much to do in terms of moderating. I think I'll change that...

@James - No really the thanks goes out to every Bitmob member who makes a post. Without a post then there would be no where for me to comment and have great discussions :)

Toby and Lance both did a great job at making me feel at home when I first started posting. They comment so much, I actually checked the staff page when I first joined to see if they were on the list. I think they were already the unofficial welcoming party anyway, so I'm glad to see that their actions were noticed. Good job guys.

Ah crap, I forgot Brett Bates, because he isn't on the staff page yet, and that's what I was referencing. Brett's part of the team now!

I hope you all remember that I gave up the opportunity to win a netbook when you're cursing me out for the edits I made to your posts! :)

We should make Andrew part of the team just to disqualify him as well! :D

AW CRAP! Does this mean I can't mock Lance in the comments for fear I'll be moderated!? This is terrible news!

@Alex don't worry I will negate anything Lance does towards you all ...... maybe .:P

Thank you guys, but lets not forget about all the others like Aaron Thomas or Intern (A-19) Aquma, Paul & the others up there. As they are doing a great job as well.

Alex, if you start laying off me I will consider it a personal insult and curse your favorite console!!!

Michael Donahoe comes up with all the naughty words around here. I just repeat them like a school boy - Why?

cuz its FUNNYY!!!!!!

And Toby is right; reading the work of the Bitmob Video Game Journalism Online University and leaving comments is the easiest part, what everyone else does takes a lot of time - Toby and I do nothing but randomly hit keys and then hit enter, hoping it will be a sentence!

I just want to say Paul Gale should sue twitter. He was talking with the @namehere style on the 1up forums years ago.
