Alright, either I’ve been left behind or the Rapture was rescheduled. Can’t believe I still have to work today!

News Blips:

Infinity Ward will break the seal on Modern Warfare 3 tonight with a full reveal trailer during the NBA Western Conference Finals. The time for teasing is over. Activision is priming the hype machine’s engine and will turn the key tonight around 6 p.m. PDT. According to this booklet I have right here -- which is called “The Television Guide” -- that should be right as Game 4 of the Dallas Mavericks/Oklahoma City Thunder gets started on ESPN. If you don’t have ESPN, then get your butt on the Twitter and follow Infinity Ward Community Manager Robert Bowling -- or you can follow me, as I’ll likely be tweeting my thoughts watch it below, as it appears to have leaked early.

Sony expects the PSN attack to cost $171 million. Sure, the PSN downtime prevented you from getting your Call of Duty: Black Ops on with some friends after work, but that is nothing compared to what it will end up costing Sony. When taking into account the identity theft protection, customer support, the Welcome Back program, network upgrades, legal/consultation fees, and an expected drop in future revenue, well, the total reaches a princely sum. Sony announced this figure as part of a revision to the financial forecast they made in February. The company will announce their fiscal-year results on May 26, and it isn't going to be rosy.

Nintendo intends to stream their E3 press conference via their website. Can’t make it to E3 because of you're lifetime ban from Los Angeles for the crime of cosplaying as Snake Plissken and screaming "Escape from L.A. is better than Escape from New York" at strangers? Well, then you have problems. One of those is the fact that you won’t be able to attend Nintendo’s briefing where they will surely be revealing the successor to the Wii. If you have an Internet connection, then plop yourself down in front of E3.Nintendo.com before 9 a.m. PDT on June 7 and feast your eyes -- or, in Snake Plissken’s case, eye -- on all of Reggie Fils-Aime’s glory.

Sony announces the PSP Remaster series. Now, “remaster” does not mean to master again. It means that PSP games are being retooled for the PlayStation 3. The upgrades will include full HD visuals, Dual Shock 3 compatibility, PS3-exclusive content, 3D support, and more. Sony may be trying to bring some of that Japanese PSP magic to its console. That motivation seems especially likely when the first PSP Remaster game is taken into consideration: Monster Hunder Portable 3rd. [Andriasang]

I hope MW3 is no good, for my own sake!

I was so sure that I was going to be "meh" about MW3... I guess I'm an idiot. That got me pumped.

I'm so glad they've abandoned that old engine!

Not to nit-pick, but there's a bit of a typo in the headline. I was wondering how Sony could have only lost $171.00 due to the outage.

Thanks, William. I'm going to fix that now.
