Puzzler: Guess the aquatic creatures

Swimming can be a relaxing and therapeutic experience for video-game heroes...unless the water is filled with angry, hungry wildlife. Can you name the games these wet bastards are from?

0/10.  I wasn't even aware they had names.

EDIT: Whoops.  I thought you were supposed to name the creatures.  Well it's still 0/10.  I have a blind hatred for all aquatic enemies in games.  They're all the same to me...except for Ninja Gaiden's Ghostfish.

Some have names. Hmm...maybe I'll add them in the answers page. Let's see...there's fish, purple thing, hungry alien....

Five out of 10. I got the first five. That's a change of pace for me.

Whoa, I didn't think you'd bring of Eye of the Beholder! That's old stuff. I can't even remember the last time I played it. I think it was having trouble figuring out how to attack in that game.

I've never been too much into Dungeons & Dragons, but I do like the creatures and fantasy settings.

Eye of the Beholder felt very claustrophobic. Too slow-paced for me.

Wasn't that entire game based on claustrophobia? It reminded me of all the times I kept panicking in Phantasy Star 1. Monotone dungeon mazes from the first-person perspective are like a nightmare. I'm glad that dungeons look better than they did in the old days.

Did you ever play Friday the 13th on the NES? The game switched to a first-person view when you entered houses. The level design was so poor, each house felt like a giant rat maze.

Come to think of it, I remember playing this game a long time ago. I don't think I remembered it very well, because it had such a horrible level design.

I had to watch this video to bring back the memories. The memories of throwing rocks that conveniently arc over the enemies head. Urgh.

First 5 right for me! What, no Darius? :)

I thought of Darius, but I avoided using robots/ships for this Puzzler. Do you have any idea why everything in Darius looks like marine wildlife?

I think it must have been a gimmick used just to look different. Luckily, it's kind of awesome, and it has survived throughout the series =oD

No Zora's either? Too easy, right?

That would have been cool. I'll remember it for a possible sequel. :)

gaaah! 3/10. samir, how do you even come up with the games? are you just like...hmm aquatic monsters...ALADDIN!

Mindjack

Ha ha! I didn't want to use popular baddies like Mario's bloopers or Sonic's robot fish, so instead I went with bizarre and forgettable water-dwellers like the Aladdin fish and whatever #7 is.

Say, is it possible to have maybe thumbnails of the pictures repeated on page 2 with the answers? Then I won't have quite as much backing-and-forthing to see just how wrong I was. Heh!

That's not a bad idea. The Puzzlers are hard enough already, so checking the answers should be painless. Thanks, William!

Thanks for being so amenable. I always dig the Puzzlers, even if I did just keep guessing Super Metroid and Mega Man for most of today's edition.

#3 had me guessing. I was wrong. I thought it was the same character that I was battling in the toilet today. They looked like fish...

Pic, or it didn't happen?

Ha, I don't take pics of my restroom use. That was a gross comment, sorry.
