Retro Television: GamePro TV

Capitalizing on the gaming craze that flooded television in the early '90s, GamePro attempted their own show in effort to reach the youth readership. If you've never heard of it, don't feel left out; the show did about as well as you'd expect Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure Into Video Games would.... Bodaciously [via The Retroist]:

Low ratings and one fired co-host later, GamePro TV's two-year run as a gigantic infomercial for the magazine had run its course. No words can truly describe the "totally rad" vibe this show puts off, so I've included a short video. Can you see why we are not watching this today? Yah, here we go, bud!

I can't believe I used to really like this show as a kid.  It's so bad it's good.

I can't imagine how any J.D. Roth vehicle could possibly fail.  Christ, we're talking about the host of tv's "Fun House" here!!!

Mutant Terrorists!

I would have totally watched this if it had been on in Australia (if it was, I never knew about it, although I was only 4 or 5 years old at the time). Looks great to me, but then I still love Bill & Ted and Wayne's World.

I love how over-enthusiastic the hosts are.

What was that similar show that came on around that same time period where they had these kids run through some sort of obstacle course and grab as much videogame swag as they could? It wasn't Nick Arcade, and it had two similarly "rad" hosts. Someone have a link to that on the Youtubes?

I bet the reason these guys are so enthusiastic is because they finally got to breathe in fresh air after being trapped in their lockers.
