F.E.A.R. 3 is getting pretty creative with its multiplayer features. I never was too interested in the series, but after seeing modes like Soul King, I may just give the third game a shot. F**king Run! looks particularly thrilling, probably because it has my favorite four-letter word in its title: run.
Video Blips:
• Soul King is a mode in F.E.A.R. 3 where players fight to obtain as many enemy souls as possible. There’s a fantastic James Brown joke in here; I just can’t seem to think of it. “I got the feeling” that I’m “super bad” at this...sorry.
After the break, see a lot of epic things happen in Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012, see bloodlust made adorable in Fluffy: Operation Overkill, and witness the most gutsy electrical device ever in Robo Surf.
• Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 is a digitized version of the popular card game that I’d constantly see programming majors play in the basement of my old college. As many times as I’ve been offered, I’ve never had the desire to play. Now that the game exists unchanged in video-game form, I can honestly say that my feelings remain unchanged.
• To the seven of you who have always dreamed of playing as a cute, cuddly beaver and making meat chunks out of monsters: Keep an eye on Fluffy: Operation Overkill. It’s amazing how adding adorableness can take away from the horror of violence...or add to it.
• Robo Surf looks like a decent time killer during those long, dismal commutes to work. Having a robot that surfs seems a bit reckless, doesn’t it? I agree that you should follow your dreams, but not if they’re suicidal.
