Our team at GDC is killing it, and we are only one week away from PAX East. I'll be in Boston for that, so let me know if you want to buy me a drink.

News Blips:

News Blips: First-party NGP gamesSony first-party developers have been developing for the NGP since 2008 and are working on original PlayStation Suite titles. On the official UK Playstation website, Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida confirmed that internal development began two years ago for NGP games. Which explains why the PSP's release schedule has been a bit lacking in that time. In addition, the studios are creating short-form titles that will work on both NGP and Android devices running PS Suite. Although, I'm betting "short-form" is code word for "Angry Birds clone."

Epic's vice president Mark Rein has stated that Infinity Blade is "hugely succesful." The loquacious Rein said that the iOS title surpassed developer Chair's other recent game, Shadow Complex for Xbox Live Arcade. Rein didn't reveal what measure he was using to gauge that success, but Shadow Complex has been downloaded nearly 550k times at $15. If Infinity Blade earned more in revenue, then -- at $5.99 -- it must have outsold its console cousin nearly three-fold. [Joystiq]

Nintendo's 3DS is breaking pre-order records at U.K. retailers. Unsurprisingly, people want the 3DS. "We're very encouraged that it's going to be a big launch," said Nintendo UK sales director Andy Yates. "Retailers tell us that things are good, and they're pretty relieved to have a big launch in March -- they need something of that magnitude." According to Yates, pre-orders are on pace to surpass 100,000 units. Hopefully, Nintendo's supply chain can focus all firepower on meeting that demand.

Conan celebrates Finland's greatest achievement, Angry Birds, by playing a life-sized recreation. Of course, Conan couldn't stop at celebrating his favorite country; he had to take a dump on Sweden -- Finland's world rival -- by destroying Ikea furniture in the process. [TeamCoco]
