News Blips: Super Scribblenauts, BioShock 2 DLC Maps, Active Nintendo Living, and More

If 5th Cell makes a third Scribblenauts game, what are they gonna name it? Scribblenauts 64?

News Blips:

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developer 5th Cell announce Super Scribblenauts, the sequel to the last year's breakout hit. They boast that the new game allows for adjectives to modify nouns, which expands the gameplay opportunities. They also promise to improve the games' controls, which was a cause of grief for many with the original. You mean I'll be less likely to unintentionally send Maxwell into a pit of lava now? Sweet! 2K Games responds to complaints about BioShock 2's Metro Pack downloadable content. According to 2K's Senior Manager of Interactive Marketing Elizabeth Tobey, the reason some gamers can't play the new multiplayer maps is a not a glitch but rather a design choice. The developers didn't want the maps to split up the player base, so if at least one person in a match doesn't have the DLC, the game automatically reverts back to the basic maps. I'm not sure what's worse -- being known as that guy that made everyone else play on the old maps, or to just be excluded from a playing with them altogether. [Eurogamer]

Nintendo teams up with the American Heart Association and announces a joint Innovation Summit. Together they plan "to promote physically active play as part of a healthy lifestyle" via movement-minded games like Nintendo's Wii Fit. The AHA and video-game publisher are also planning a "multidisciplinary summit of representatives from a variety of fields...to take closer look at the synergies and benefits of active-play video games." Nintendo and the American Heart Association: "Empowering people to make personal [purchase] choices about creating a healthy lifestyle."

Guitar Hero 6 reportedly does not feature playable famous musicians. The latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine (via GoNintendo) reveals that Activision intends to exclude pantomiming rockers (like Kurt Cobain and No Doubt) for their latest Guitar Hero installment. Kiss frontman Gene Simmons and Metalica drummer Lars Ulrich, however, are set to make cameos in the game as a narrator and the unlockable alter-ego power-up, Warrior Lars. I guess this means for all the aspiring rock stars in their garages, becoming a playable character in a Guitar Hero game is no longer a viable measure of success.

I thought that Scribblenauts news happened at the beginning of March? http://www.gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=116446

Guess it's only "official" now? Silly companies, ignoring everything that doesn't fit with their planned announcement schedules.

Yeah, I think this is just the first official announcement of the game -- with a name and screenshots!
