Today I thought about blaming Jason Wilson for tempting the inner geek craving in me.  Also other things just came up while I was doing my black friday shopping at super wal-mart.  Then again I been holding something in since the first of the week.

The reason why I blame Jason is I have not had this craving since Dungeon Siege.  With the Bitmob RPG Mobcast Episode 27 chalk full of talking about RPG's I had a stirring.  This took me by the horns and I had to find a way to do it.  So what I ended up doing was using the family's desktop computer and I downloaded the Steam Demo of Torchlight.  My wife really does not like me touching the computer for gaming, but I did this with out her knowing at first.  Which brings me to this question:  For the love of gaming have you ever done something then told your significant other about it when it comes to games?

While at wal-mart this guy and I talk about video games and such things.  After finding out he recently bought a PS3 one week earlier I really got in question mode.  Most of my questions were basic like: where do you get your game information, how did you pick when to buy your console, what types of games do you like to play and why didn't you wait for the PS3 deal here?  I gave him a few websites that will help him on his way to provide him with information and maybe a good deal or two.  The question to here is with the new gamers out there in what ways do you help them find information.  Also in what ways can we help the gamers who don't know become more informed?

Over the past week I have been thinking about two game that come out next year.  Both these games will be time consuming like no other an plan to spend that time with just one of them.  My inner geek says Final Fantasy XIII, but the country in me is yelling for Red Dead Redemption.  Some of y'all might be thinking I am nuts for thinking this way, but a good western game will cure all gaming needs.  Over all I will only have time & money for one of these games.  So my question to y'all who can only buy one game every once in a while.  How do you choose which game to buy on day one?

Regarding Q1, I remember the first time I played Portal I got so excited that I tried to explain/show my wife how fun the game was. She was thoroughly unimpressed, sadly, so no cake for her.
