Yes it is nice to see that there aren't the flame wars and fan boy debates that are on most sites, but I thought it would be interesting for the community to share their stories of fanboy-ism. For example times that you knew deep down that a game was bad but you kept trying to convince yourself and all your friends how great it was. One example I have was when I bought the Medabots: Infinity game when I was 12 (for those who don't know Medabots was an awesome, if not original Saturday morning cartoon about robots that battled each other). I think that I knew deep down how bad the game really was, but I spent my hard earned dollar on it and felt I needed to justify my purchase. Somehow the piss poor level design and broken fighting system weren't enough for me to realize what a disappointment the game really was.
Another route that can be taken is the amount of work you did to get a game or system that you were looking forward to. For example a few years ago, I got up at 3:00 AM while sick to go to Circuit City and pick up a Wii with my parents. Unfortunately, that bit me in the ass because of Nintendo's lack of releases.
These were just a couple of examples for the community to use. Hoping you guys write some great fanboy stories, thanks.
P.S. Can spell check please consider fanboy as a word?
