Top o' the morning, Mobbers!

Today is, sadly, the final day of Field Week - the brain child of Alex R. Cronk-Young and Cody Winn - and also the final day of Morning Cup of Mob -- something I did all of Field Week! It's been fun and tiring, but it was worth it.

Enough sad talk, let's ride!

"I’m the Dude. So, that’s what you call me. You know, that, or his dudeness, or duder, or el duderino, if you’re not into the whole brevity thing."

The Dude

Day Five of Field Week

Well, here we are at the end of Field Week. That means I need to write something here...but I just can't think of what to write! I've barely had a chance to play any games lately, and yet I find myself making grand plans every day, of what I'm going to be playing every night.

But it doesn't work out that way. So it goes.

If I could pick one game to play, I think I'd love to try out the Halo: Reach beta. From everything I've heard, it's an absolute blast, and it even hearkens back to the old, Combat Evolved days.

I have fond memories of lugging a 100 pound (kid you not) television from my house to my neighbors so we could enjoy Halo with 16 players. It was fast, frenetic, and it usually lasted until my neighbors parents threw us out -- you know, becasue we were being "too loud" or some nonsense.

I believe I've already posted about this very thing at some point, so I'll just stop right there.

Ah, the good old days.

Cup of Mob Challenge

All of you guys have been great with your responses. I've really enjoyed reading all of 'em.

Today, instead of giving you a real challenge, I figured it would nice if all of you talked about why you enjoyed Field Week, and if you want to go ahead and thank Alex and Cody, I won't stop you.

Great week, guys! Great week.

First, I want to thank you Chris. These challenges have been awesome!

Next, I want to thank Alex and Cody for coming up with this idea. Sure, we all had to hear some cryptic crap on Twitter in the weeks leading up to it, but Field Week really got me in the contributing spirit. This is the first week I've really felt like a part of the Bitmob family (despite no one contributing to my event. Really? Am I the only one here who likes WarioWare D.I.Y.?)

Anyway, it's been really fun and I hope to participate next year!

@Chase - Yeah! Field Week really helped me get to know you better, and I'm glad! Consider yourself part of "The Bitmob Inner Circle", which I guess is just the people I know and talk to from Twitter. My inner circle I suppose. It doesn't really offer you anything, and it sounds kind of pretentious, but oh well.

@Cosmo - Yay! You did it! Thanks for helping out with Field Week every single day. I never even had to pester you to get your event up on time. You're the bestest, Cosmo!

@Alex I love circles, especially inner ones. Corners and sides are so last year.

What I enjoyed most about Field Week was having a post by Cosmo EVERYDAY!!! That will likely never happen again!

But seriously, Alex and Cody have to be commended for all of the hard work and planning they did to make Field Week successful. I think it also displays the amazing community we have hear.

Thanks Cosmo, Cody, Alex, and everyone else who took part in Field Week. I will remember it always......

@Chase - If no one entered, does that mean you win a prize?

@Lance - Since no one entered, I ripped Chase's prize away and gave it to AJ's event. Hopefully someone will enter that one, haha.

I liked Field Week because it shows that we do have a community here. Whether on the site, on Twitter, or by other means a lot of people have contributed all over the place!

Alex and Cody, you guys did a bang up job with this and hopefully next year will be just as good if not better!

I have enjoyed this field week even though I have yet to log in too my 1up account. This has been great I think getting more people active in writing and just getting the comradery up as well.

This was such a cool idea and I really do appreciate everyone who made it possible. If anything I think it was a bit too ambitious. There were so many cool ideas that I didn't get to take part in because of the short time frame available and because I was out of town on vacation all week. Still, I got to take part in what I could and had a blast doing so.

My suggestion- Next year we call it 'crossover month' and have the 1up writers competing with the Bitmob writers with third party voters to declare a winner. I think it could be a ton of fun as long as it was done just for fun and not as a serious "we rule, you suck" kind of thing.

I don't know, it has been a long week and I am wiped. I hope I explained that well enough.

Thanks guys!!!
