Vindictus, the action MMO from the people at Nexon and Dev Cat studios have finally released the open beta for the game. The game has already been out in Korea for a while, but th game still feels fresh and is absolutely like any MMO i have ever played.

The game has many features such as a level-up system, destructible environments made possible by the game being built on Valves Source Engine, and crazy good visuals for any game, not just a free to play MMO. The gruesome combat will keep you trying to kill the mobs in many new and interesting ways like spear throwing, grappling, lethal take downs, smashes, and throwing rocks at them. The bosses are also fun to kill and there are many boss encounters in the game. All the bosses have weaknesses so guess what? You use all the ways mentioned above to kill all of the bosses throughout the game. Pretty cool right?

Now, sound game mechanics are a major part of Vindictus, but there is so much more. The normal mobs aren't too interesting to fight, but they are fun to kill which is very important in a game like this. Also the medieval-esque artsyle is very pleasing to the eye, and it sure looks good covered in bloodstains. A nice touch is that when stuff breaks, it actually stays broken. It doesn't just disappear in 4 seconds. Also the spears and slash marks are all shown on the bosses and enemies at all times, too. Sometimes you can see a boss with 8 spears through his head which is very entertaining to see! The bosses are very fun to kill and require lots of teamwork to take down.

As awesome as this game is, it still has some issues. The normal mobs are too easy to kill. I found myself spamming left click slashes through most of these guys. Also some of the bosses feel like they either require more or less players to complete.

Now this is open beta so I'm assuming that a lot of these things will be fixed over time with updates and such, since is the Nexon way. Even though this game is technically only in OB it still feels like a full fledged game and it is very fun to play. I recommend that everyone go to nexon.net and go download Vindictus for a try.
