It was such a hotly contested battle, we could've turned it into a reality show (if only grammar made for good television).
Our search for a few new staffers is finally over...for now (nothing ominous there -- just saying we're continuously growing). A few weeks ago, we asked our community to spit-shine a piece of turd writing as part of an application process to become Bitmob's next editor. We got a ton of entries, narrowed them down to the six best results, then interviewed those finalists to see who would be the best fit as far as work experience and available time go....
It was a damn tough editing test -- don't be discouraged if you didn't make it, because really only one person got it perfect. And you never know -- if we don't screw this Bitmob thing up, we'll only need more and more help in the future. We really believe in this "community meets the press" thing and want to offer regular guys and gals as many game-editorial opportunities as possible.
So, please help us welcome Rob Savillo, James DeRosa, and Jay Henningsen to the Bitmob staff. They're going through Bitmob boot camp training right now, but you'll see some of their edits of community pieces as early as later this afternoon.
Also welcome Omar Yusuf, our newest intern. He started last week (you can tell who's on staff by front-page posts that don't have an "editor's note" on them) and is slowly lowering the insanity meters for our other, overworked interns.
*Apologies for the headline. Couldn't resist. Funny thing is, we probably would've disqualified any applicants who would write like this....
